Has anyone tried to or has converted a 74-82 over to a chrome bumper? I really like the look of the chrome bumper C3's but like the interior of the later ones (78-82). Can this be done, or is this a pipe dream?

Anything can be done, but that would be a MASSIVE cost-ineffective project. You would need to replace the fenders, front and rear for starters. You would have to replace the nose portion of the front surround and buy a "taillight" panel. Then you would need to buy all the brackets, the bumpers, etc. Why not buy a chrome bumper car, if that's what you want? Chuck

You are better off to buy a trashed chrome bumper car, and your later model C3. Then, put the frame and interior out of the newer one into the older one.

Otherwise, you are talking about cutting the entire front clip from the windshield forward, and the entire rear clip from the door lock post backwards to do this. Plus, the chome, brackets, etc.

Yes, it could be done, and has been done. If you had all the parts around and about, you could pull it off, no doubt. The cost would be over the top though if you had to buy all the parts new and vintage and start from scratch.

Yea, I figured as much. It was just a thought.

Thanks!!!!
