Well I red a good article in this months corvette fever magazine. They have about 5 pages on the TPI system. Something was mentioned about buying a new PROM. I guess that over time GM will issue new PROMS with the same part part number. Apparently they have been programmed with updates, that the magazine says will increase the performance and driveability of your car.
Yea but it is not what it seems. After a couple of years they quit updating the older stuff. I don't think there are updates available for even the LT1's anymore.
Oh really, I thought this might be better then it seemed. The example they gave was a no start on 88 models when hot. Apparently the injectors are shut down for 30 seconds after cranking. Who knows.
Well the article said to buy the latest revision part number that will work with your car. So I guess they have upgraded over the years, but not lately.
