Where can I find a pair of headers for a SBC that will fit the factory sidepipes?

L88, you're going to have to find a shorty header. most long tube pipes are going to exit behind the opening for the sidepipes. trust me ,i know for a fact. early 80's had a shorty factory header. not as effecient as the long tube, but less restrictive than the ram horns.
you'll have to block off the emission plumbing but they will work.check with Gary(copdogcorvette) i think he still has a set of the factory headers.

The factory short header do work better than the ram horms and look better too. I have seen headers designed to hook up to side exhuast, but it's been a very long time. The shorty headers are all you will most likely be able to find unless you get someone to build a set.

P.S. Yes, I do still have a set of the factory short headers.

Gary, i'm trying to get them shorties sold for you. how's the projrct car going for you? i haven't seen you posting much lately.

I've been out of tonw for a few days helping my folks get some work done to their house. They are in their 80's and thinking of selling the old home; It is just to much work for them.

The new vette is going along; I just got the brakes bleed out so they work good now. It had just been sitting too long. Replaced the exhuast donut; bad leak. I'll get a picture or two ready soon. It has a complete new exhuast system on it, but it is Y pipes and cat. Hope to get side pipes soon. Looking for an 80 style rear bumper first.

Gary, glad to hear that you're doing ok. i worry when my regular CAC buddies aren't around. i guess i am getting addicted to this site.
BTW have you considered the 80's style with the taller spoiler? if i had some loose change laying around i think that would be an addyion on my vette. plus a front spoiler.

Robin....the older i get, the faster i was

I've look at them, but just don't know. I've never actual seen one, just once in a catalog. I just don't like that rounded back end on the 78 and 79s.
