Headers - what kind of performance boost did you get

For me they were worth about a 1/2 second and 10 mph in teh 1/4 mile. Do you think thats par for the course?

Did you change any other exhaust system components when you installed the headers ?

I'm interested in some dyno numbers here or even just a little more information about the rest of the engine/tranny setup. I've heard that large diameter tubular headers might not improve performance on near stock applications because the velocity of the exhaust gases is too low for them to scavenge effectively. Has anyone put headers on a stock setup and seen solid gains? What about an engine with fairly mild performance improvements (intake & cam for example)?

I am also interested in the actual dyno numbers that headers produce . Jere Stahl from York Pa.is the only mfg. I know of that guarantees a performance increase over other header builders . I have been in the business for more that 40 years , and when you consider the poor build quality,fit,leak and ground clearance problems of most headers , I feel the stock systems in most cases will do the job with little or no problems .
