I own a C5 2000 model year. What are the best long tube header to buy for this Vett, ones that wont dis color and give a good power increase. Also any sugg for high flow cats ??

IMHO, I would consider Kooks longtube headers with some random highflow cats.... You may wanna coat those longtube headers though!

Other will certainly chime in with their preferences!

Good luck!

Kooks or LGs with Random Tech hi-flow cats will both do what you want. Get them thermal coated (as well as a proper tune) to avoid discoloration and extract max power. Kooks give you a solid flange mount at the collectors; LGs are a slip-fit, which provides maximum ground clearance. A few years ago, FLPs were the "hot" item.

HTH!

How come we don't hear about the TPIS headers for the C5's like we do for the C4's?

Are their C5 headers not as well built or high in quality as their C4 headers?

I've always heard good things about slp but have not put anything on my car yet.

I would agree with the above, Kooks w/cats will give you a good power band, at 1/2 the price of the other one.. LG's are very good headers but cost more..

As to the TPIS headers, They are good Headers but you won't get the RWTQ like the others.. I run them on my C5 but at a cost.

I can think of two reasons. 1. Their headers are mild steel, and don't last like stainless, 2. They were one of the first C5 headers. They require welding and fabrication to hook them up to stock exhaust. The newer designs are easier to install, and generally include x-pipes and cats (if desired,) and completety replace the system prior to the cat-back. The newer systems are just all-around better, though at a price.

In fact, TPIS now sells other brand headers for the C5.

I have 1 7/8 kooks headers w/ X pipe on my vette. I didn't get a tune because I am going to put a cam in my car eventually. But, I did notice a big increase in the Seat of the pants dyno once the computer adjusted for them. The headers through my B&B PRT triflow catback made the car sound great. Actually it sounds like it has a mild cam in it.

I'll Just Leave mine Stock,I couldn't stand it if it Ran Better!! :eek :eek junk!!
