I'm having problems with the headlight doors on the left hand side of my 90 convertible. It won't open or close . According to the service manual I need to replace the module. It has power going to the headlight motor when the headlights are turned off. The module is $170 thru my local dealership. My question is this, Is this a common item to go bad? It's a expensive piece to replace and that not be the problem. I replaced the bushings a few months ago and they were working great until now. ;shrug

Problems with motors are usually more common.Does power go full time to to RH motor as well ?
On the early style lights there is a limit switch in the motor that shuts off power ; this gives problems.
Not familiar with the solid state switching you have.

The right headlight works as it should. I replace the left motor recently also with the smae results. I bought a module off ebay for $50, I'll let you know how that comes out. Thanks
