Headlight switch removal?

I just received my rosewood console kit and want to put it on tomorrow some time. Does anyone know how to remove the headlamp switch either the whole thing shaft & all or just the round knob?? There seems to be some type of key near the knobs attachment to the metal shaft. Thanks!! :confused

The knob just comes off so you can get the panel behind it off, on mine I think there is a little clip that holds it on the shaft that you have to depress then it will just slide off.

Their is a spring (clip) that holds the knob on...get a tiny screwdriver or somthing like that...insert it into the keyway and push it back towards the rear of the car...it will pop right off...watch it doesn't hit you in the nose...to replace just push it on.
