Dave Hill was at Mid Ohio today and the questions got around to the two most asked.
1 Price "Cannot tell you now it will be realeased arounnd July but you will be pleased"
2 Hows it stack up against the Viper? The 400hp Z51 will handle a Viper, the Z06 will be "Punishingly superior" :D

there were 3 Z06's in attendence along with Grand Sport 001 which led the parade lap.

Sounds good to me. Any pictures of the parade lap? Hope the good news keeps coming.

the photographer will be selling the pictures tomorrow, I will most likely opt for the CD version there were 105 Corvettes on the parade lap 100 spectators led by the 001 Grand Sport,the3 Z06's and a C5R or C6R pace car (I did't get a close look at it I was next to last;LOL

Slow Track?

Are you saying your coupe couldn't keep up with the lead pack? I find that hard to believe:D Whatever you do, do post some of those pictures up somewhere so we here at the CAC can see them. Sounds like it would be quite a sight. Did anyone do any high revs ;)? Or just a simple 20mph around the track :eyerole?

I did see some fairly good third gear action, the cars were lined up by where you parked as I too late for the good parking Saturday, but in the front row of the second lot I was last in line. The CD should arrive in a little over a weeks time I will post some pictures of the Z06's (4) in attendence once I download my camera.

Z06 Photos

here are a few pictures, but pictures do not do it justice, it has an aggressive stance and looks good standing still:D

this blue one snuck in Sunday morning and parked in the Corral like everyone else.

Hi, I was chasing a little (well, a couple,) white ball and missed the race @ mid-ohio. How did the c6r do?

the Menards C5r came in 4th ahead of the Maserati and Viper the Saleen was third. The talk was since the cars were to be shipped to LeMans after Mid Ohio the drivers were told to be careful even so they were noticably faster then the competition. At this time there are only 2 C6Rs so with LeMans on the horizon there was no "funny busines". The "Corvette Corral" was definatly the way to go to the race.

to me seeing the 001 Grand Sport was worth the price of admission:

I saw these cars on their way to the track... My son and I were on our way down to Cincinnati last Friday for a Reds game, and I spotted the silver Z coming North on I-71 heading toward Columbus. I spotted it from a half mile away. The hood scoop really catches your eye, and the stance is much more aggressive then the base model. I almost ran off the freeway!:D I was planning on heading up to Mid-Ohio for the races on Sunday, but I don't have my car back from the shop yet so I figured it'd just made me miss it more.

If you haven't done a DE event up at Mid-Ohio, you've got to take part in one. I got my Z up to a little over 140 down the back stretch...:lou
