heater and ac

On my 1982 the heater blows warm air and the ac blows cold air.

But the fan doesn't blow it out of the vents at any velocity at all.

It is blowing out of the proper vents when on ac and heat and defrost,but volumke is very low.

Fan seems to be running on high but not much air coming through.

Anybody else have the same problem or is this all that I can expect?

The volume of air is inversely related to the quality of seals, etc. on the ductwork. A 30 year old car could probably use some new seals.

Having said that, my C3 was never going to blow me out of the seat with cold air like the new cars. There is some info at http://home.comcast.net/~chadwick.robert/ventilation.htm at the bottom about upgrading the fans. The links might be outdated. I haven't maintained the site in a while.

Check the blower motor resistor to ensure you get low, medium, and high fan speeds.
