After raining off & on, mainly on, for a day and a half, I was ready to put my labor and everyone's suggestions to the test. WHAM! I barely turned the key. That baby turnered right over! WOW!

So, thanks to you guys, it looks as though my "won't start in heavy rains" problem is gone. I have one more small engine issue to take care of -- replacing the oil pressure sensor. I've had it for like 2 months now, just gotta do it. THANKS SO MUCH ALL!

Great news!

What do you think was the cure? There were many suggestions, did you try them all?

Good for you :cool!:

When you dig the oil pressure sender out to replace, have your teflon tape to wrap the threads of the new one and be gentle with the new ones tab...they break off very easily.

Answear to question what did he do

I pulled this from his previous post looking for help on this problem

Test — Heavy Rains Coming!

Well here goes. After following the advice of some of you wonderful forum members, who replied to my most recent thread, "Heavy Rains, Won't Start", the '94 gets a real good test tonight & all day tomorrow — "heavy rain".:ugh I pulled the throttle intake duct to gain access to the wire running out of, I guess the harness, connecting to the Opti, blew inside the connector with compressed air, added dielectric grease to that wire & all those wire connections in that area of the intake, & pulled the coil wire that I forgot to swap out 2 1/2 years ago. BTW, it took me 40 minutes to an hour to re-connect the new coil wire to the Opti end of the coil. Trying to go in from the top. With poor vision and bad lighting, I was really getting "ticked". Finally noticing the small opening from the front, I was able to get it over the Opti end and able to push down with a pair of needle-nosed pliers. WOW! Well, the "proof will be in the pudding" tomorrow. Thank All:thumb

I used a thread sealant for the same purpose. The only real chore was situating the special socket for each turn in tightening. Also, being so close to the firewall, it was a real pain getting the special socket off. And hey, I noticed another "sender/gauge" coming from the same connection unit — 2 oil pressure gauges? What's up with that? I wasn't told about there being 2 on the '94. Thanks for the reply.:thumb
