Like Bob a.k.a. 67heaven, I live in a part of the country that is in, what we call the six by six zone. Which means we drive for six months, and then we get the pleasure to work on our cars during the other 6 months.![]()
As of now, I am in the driving part of it, so there is not much physical work going on. However it is not to say we don't get anything done during these months. We attend shows, ( I'm leaving for the " Super Chevy Show " next week in Epping NH, to meet up with Rich Lagasse ), we plan for the winter build, and also use this period to source all the parts that will be needed during the winter months.
I will be picking up a few complete front ends in Carlisle, along with a set of four ( 4 ) complete widened fenders a.k.a. 67heaven. I am planning on modifying the front clip into a flip up front end ( check pic # 2 ) , to better show the 502 nestled in the engine compartment. I will also be using a front mounted, serpentine belt conversion from " March ", but in discussing the various components with some of the manufacturers, it was strongly recommended that the regular type II GM pump that is normally supplied, be replaced with a higher quality pump.
So I enquired in the trade, and was told the very best unit that could be had ( a la Nascar, Cart, etc. ) was made by a firm by the name of KRC, so I went ahead and ordered their aluminium model pump ( max 9000 rpm ) along with the necessary baffled tank, and valve regulator. The following pictures show the various parts that make up the package. I am having a fellow member bring all this down to the show in Carlisle for pick-up, so if anyone is interested in having a closer look, I will be more then pleased to show them off, while offering any interested party, a cold bottle of Canadian " Moose Pee ".
I don't have the time to post as much as I would like these days, but I still get to check out the different threads that are of interest to me. Sorry for the lengthly post, but since you asked me, I figure you had better get your moneys worth.

It is being installed in my SWC along with a R+P conversion from " Steeroids" and a hydraulic brake assist unit from " HydraTech". Looks like a lot of sh*t to be running with such a small little pump, but that's the way it's gotta be.
The only difference will be with the "T" fitting which will not be used, as per the recommendations on the sheet. Diagram courtesy of Mr. Paul Clark, from " Hydratech"

I love your reference to the " Squirrel " because that is exactly how I feel sometimes. You can view a few more shots of the work in progress, by visiting my modest web-page at the following www.autoretro.info
Of particular interest will be the insertion of the power condenser, and the engine oil cooler, both with their own fans into each side of the cowel section. This is being done in order to improve their cooling efficiency by drawing cold air through the ( 1967 ) style side vents, and at the same time keeping them from generating additionnel heat next to my new " DeWitts " radiator. As you can see not much has been accomplished as yet, but it will be coming along quicker as the winter season approaches.
