hei chrome ignition shielding

did any C-3's with hei ignitions come with chrome ignition shielding? If so will it adapt to my 82 easily?

No. The HEI cars did not have chrome; they use a plastic shield which snaps to the top of the distributor.

I don't have a picture of my car, but it has chrome from the factory on it. Older 70's had chrome also, just not hei .

company called ecklers is listing for a 75-77 chrome covers. So I will look at there stuff. Hopefully it will clear a 84 crossfire air cleaner.

You're right. My bad. I stand corrected. I looked it up. It appears 75-76 and early 77s got the chromed metal shielding. The black plastic began in 77 and continued through 82.

Topless: If you want to add the chrome, the 75-76 AIM will show the correct part numbers and associated bracketry, grommets, etc. Clearing your air cleaner might be close.

well my car has a 1984 air cleaner so I am pretty sure the chrome stuff will not work but I will see about trimming it to make it work.

I believe that when it comes to the HEI shielding itself, the other posts are correct; however, did you also mean the wire shields(close to the igniter plug)?

I want all of it if it will fit on my car. I have a polished 84 air cleaner and I am also going to chrome and polish a 1984 serpentine system for the car so thought a chrome ignition shield setup would look good on the car. However how the backside of the 84 aircleaner is shaped and considering it's much larger then the original 82 aircleaner I am hoping this chrome ignition shielding can be made to work.

Check ebay, it is for sale on there sometimes, or ask here in the for sale forum. Some take it off and sell it.

Late 77 also came with the chrome ignition shielding.

My 76 has chrome but I don't know it it was standard or not, but it looks good
