Help!!!!! A noise, im scared

after fixing my valve cover leak
my right valve cover is making a taping sound really fast

my dad said its my lifter
he says u can't tighen it down cause its probalby hydralic


is this true

or is this even whats wrong with with it


also, there is a really fast clicking noise coming from my distrubator, but i think it smy rotor not screwed down tight enough,, i will check that out tomorrow

I doubt the noise is a coincidence. My 85 year old dad-genius always said, "Ted, now I want you to go back over, in your mind, all the things you did just before you experiened that problem." Just about each time I followed his advice I would find out what I screwed up! :) Maybe you should try this yourself before you drive yourself bonkers thinking about all that could have just gone south all by itself.

didn't do anything

just took the cover off

sand blasted it
painted it black

put blue silcone on it,
and put it on

Did you run a rubber gasket?

If all you ran is silicone, it is too low, and may be tapping the rockers.

You might have left a tool in there too. It has happened before.
