Hey guys, Im trying to lower the boost on my car. I guess it could be that the wastegates are bad, but I want to try this first.

I got under the car and looked at what I believe are the wastegates. It has a screw in the middle that takes an hex or allen wrench. I can't get the thing to budge...and on the passenger side I cant even get the wrench in b/c its so close to the heat sheilding on the bodywork of the car.

Please advise....TIA

It sounds like you've got the wastegates. You did loosen the lock nut first right?

Also, as suggested in the other post, check all the vacuum lines.

:o no I didn't....8388 told me about that of CF. I'll check it out tomorrow.

How will I adjust the one on the pass side, will it loosen up enough to turn by hand? The allen wrench doesn't fit in there very well.

ok a further quick inspection has me feeling like an idiot. :L

Like I always say, never overlook the obvious. If someone tells me they are having computer problems the first thing I ask them is if it's plugged in.

As for the allen wrench, you may have to cut it off shorter and then touch it up with a grinder and wire wheel to make sure there are no burrs. It can then be your custom "Turbo Boost Adjusting Wrench".

:D :D good call on both counts. I"ll cut it down tonight, if I can't get it work after loosening the lock nut. Thanks again
