'73 Roadster
I just bought a '73 L48 Roadster a couple of months ago, so.....

Now that I'm back in the world of cars that I can actually wrench on....I need manuals!
What is your opinions on the best shop manuals, parts manuals for my '73?

I need an owners manual too!

What are the best places or businesses to order replacement parts?

I know there are shops that specialize in certain components, but I'm looking for general items at first.
Corvette Central? Ecklers? Mid-America?

Aim me in the right direction please.

Thanks!

1973 Chevrolet (Factory) shop manual AKA 'Chassis Service Manual'. It's widely avail from various catalog places, ebay etc. I presume the new ones are reprints but originals in various condition can be had secondhand.

The aftermarket Chiltons et al are, if I may say so, crap. I do however feel that the Haynes manual is, OK, for someone just learning and doing more routine jobs.

Other options:

I dont' recall thru what year this is available but there's also the factory Chassis Overhaul Manual - it only shows specific stuff like how to overhaul a steering gear box or whatever.

The other one well worth considering is the Assembly Instruction Manaul or AIM - again commonly available in 3 hole loose leaf from the popular catalog places. It shows all the assembly diagrams of pretty much everything as to how the factory put stuff together...

I should have mentioned Helm (see JonM's link) IS the publisher for the factory GM stuff.

I don't think there's any one source that has the best of everything, you just gotta do your homework one piece at a time.

You might also try the assembly manual. Check Corvette America.

I can recommend these:

Chilton Service manual
GM Service manual for your year - 1974 Corvette Shop Manual Reprints for $100.00 USD - Is a must!
Corvette Water Leak & Wind Noise Solutions - Is a must!

and if you can get em....

The GM Parts manuals for Body and Driveline. I picked both up on Ebay for $100.00 each USD. The driveline catalogue has all GM part numbers for every part. My driveline manual services Vettes between 53 to 82 and the body parts between 53 and 81.

Try Ebay.

Cheers

Tony
