Question: Help w/ muncie linkage ajustment

When I shift into 1st and 3rd, the shifter hits the console. It even has dents in it from hitting it so many times, and when shifting into 3rd it'll even pop out of gear. Is there a way to adjust 1st and 3rd gear to give me more clearence in front of shifter and console plate.
If there is could you post a picture of the trans and linkage so I know what to adjust.
