Help!

When drag racing: I enter the burnout box with traction control off and the line loc engaged (front wheels brakes on - rear off).

I come out of the water box, hit the brakes, and stomp on the gas. Sometimes the rear wheels just fire up and my burnout is complete without a problem.

Half of the time when I stomp on the gas, the motor just bogs...as if it isn't getting fuel. I am guessing, and ONLY guessing, that the abuse mode is some how being activated and causing a throttle management problem.

How can I fix this? Several have suggested that I need to have someone use LS1 edit to work on the abuse mode but I do not know what that really means and I may not be smart enough to figure it out. :confused

This problem really screws with my head and is impacting my ability to be consistent at the starting line. ANY help would really be appreciated.

I am even open to completely and permanently disabling the traction control system, if that will help me get consistent in my burnout routine.

Help!

have you had your engines electronics tuned since you added all the stuff in your signature? if not then a good computer tune job could fix the problem.

also have you noticed if it happens in any specific weather patterns?

I did have computer tuning when the mods were done - several times as each set of mods was completed.

I haven't noticed anything about the weather - it happens in the cool of winter and in the heat of summer - doesn't seem to make any difference that I am aware of.

Talked with a tuner who will get back to me tomorrow on this. I'll keep this post updated as I try and figure this out. All comments are welcome!

I find, when doing burnouts, that if I "stomp" on the brakes usually I won't be able to turn the tires. I will experience a feel of "motor bog". I find that feathering the brake works best. Rolling just a few feet and only applying enough pressure to get it to stop rolling. Puch the gas and when the tires start to spin, then it's all smoke!!!!
Using this method I can do burnouts at will with a completely stock '98 a4!! You tend to go through sometires though!! I have pectures of 300 ft long burnouts done using this method.
Do you think the line loc is causing your havoc? Maybe when it's disengaged it changes the proportioning to a lower percentage going to the front brakes??? Just an idea...
