Help! Wheel bearings???

I have a 1996 CE LT4 with 31,000 miles. So.... I am at a stop sign making a left turn. I turned tight, standard turn not much gas and it makes this wierd sound. Woop, woop, woop.....what the heck is this? Could not pin point it but it was on the right side and had the same variable pitch/feel as when a rotor is warped. If it is a wheel bearing, do I replace one side or both? How do I know for sure if it is a wheel bearing, etc?
