Seems like since forever since I have been here. I have been having laptop problems for months and I am working more hours so just not enough hours lately. But I am off today and thought I would check in. Some awesome pictures to look at around here!

I have a few before and afters, but we aren't quite finished with the engine yet. Still a bit more engine painting and tweaking to do and my guy is working on making 2 seperate air cleaners instead of the one giant crossfire. We will keep the original one for prosperity and he bought one on ebay to cut up. I think it will be in a black crackle paint finish.

Wishing it would stop raining! Its getting annoying up here!

Any dates yet on the corvettes for cancer in Mass this year? How bout any other Mass gatherings?

I am looking at getting carpeting and seats from Wilcox - any input on their stuff? I am not sure whether to go all leather or the original leather/vinyl. I still have to get new tires and at some point the car will be painted. I am hoping in time for the super chevy show up here in August. Thats my goal!

The power it has now is so noticeable, my bf laughs when I tell him I thought the front tires lifted off the ground yesterday! It sure felt like it. LOL.

All in all the car is running great, still a bit rough idling but we haven't spent much time in the garage to work on it and he has to measure something...something about harmonic (?) something or other. its greek to me.

I would love to go to Carlisle this year but I think I am going to be moving in August so it looks like next year for me.

Wow! Sure sounds like you've been busy! Lots on your plate...
...as for the 'front tires lifting' comment, I love it when the 'vette sets me back in my seat and the nose lifts up. It is almost like we're taking off!

That is the best part about accelerating in a Vette... it just seems to lunge forward when you nail it!

He's probably referring to the "harmonic balancer" as it is commonly (and inaccurately) referred to.

You might want to talk to me before forking out the cash for that Hypertech chip...I have a "tad" bit of experience with Crossfires.

Hi Bill,
I am sure he said it right, I just can't remember all this car talk! He has been working on cars (and as a living) since he was 15 (over 3o yrs) , so I hope he got it right. He is an autobody/mechanice by trade and a perfectionist and I can't believe the little details he does that most don't even notice. I spent a few evenings at the grinder taking off the stamps on the hardware and he would polish them into a swirly design. Some might call that ANAL! LOL. I know I did a few times haha.

Any info you can share I would be happy to pass on. And any questions you need answered on my end I will do my best! The car always idled rough and when he put in the bored out throttle bodies and the new rocker arms, it did get better, but still a bit rough. I think there is an issue with the timing too, with the mark that was on there. I can't remember the whole thing as I am not always there when he is working on it.
The increased HP is awesome and the headers and all the other work got rid of the exhaust leak coming from the old manifold and the car sounds so much better.

Funny I was just looking for a cruise to Bermuda,anyplace thats not raining. The roads are even getting moldy.When it doesn't rain it showers !Good luck on your one mile move .

Hey Lori,
It HAS been forever! Last year I was in 2 parades and 5 shows, it only rained on the parade in my town. This year so far, that's the only event where it didn't rain.
I got carpeting and seats from Willcox - very happy with both. At least the inside of my car looks respectable! I got the leather/vinyl, they told me they will last longer. Very good customer service there.
So you're gonna stand us up for Carlisle again, huh? I can take more pics for ya if you like. I'd rather take one of you tho. . .

you all could always come on down to south florida too!! they don't call it the sunshine state for nothing!! seriously though it sounds like you've made a load of progress on your car. hope you get it out wonce and a while to enjoy your better summer (than winter) weather whenever possible (like if it ever stops raining throughout the northeast).

also for what it's worth, in my opinion, wilcox is the best to deal with for your interior needs, followed in close second by al knoch. i had great service and pricing in dealing with wilcox and recommend them to anyone i can. their staff is great, patient, and very knowledgable.

Nice to see you still here and you sound like you had a busy year last year, hopefully this rain can't last forever! Yeppers Carlisle is not looking good for this year :-( But you never know you just might be hearing from me at the last minute.
So glad to hear you and srs244 both had great experiences with Wilcox - thats very encouraging. Its hard to know if I should bother with the carpeting but its only a few hundred and I read somewhere on here what a big difference it made so I will do that too. But oh man I can't wait to get new seats and cushions - that is going to be nice to get those awful seat covers off.
I wish I could get all those pix off my laptop and show off all the work. I know I did post a few way back when but the before pictures are really something. Man that car was a mess, so I feel really proud of all the progress in less than a year. Hard to believe next month will be one year since I bought the car. That sure flew by, as did a lot of money!
I can't even imagine how folks restored their cars pre ebay and internet. Never mind meet so many cool vette owners!

Hey Lori, guys from Texas,
Hope you're getting the rain you need, we still are here! Major flooding here last week, well not 'here' here, but like 25 miles away. Pics in the paper of people fishing off of their porches and such. (that may mean 'lanai' for you southern folk) I went to a 'First Annual' car show in this little town last week - rain or shine - guess which it did??? You know it, rain again! I got the car looking pretty respectable, kept the birds away til the Mrs was ready to go, and as soon as we left the yard it startd to sprinkle. We got to the place and it was raining pretty good. Only 5 cars showed up! Free food and beer, I wasn't passing that up. So we all stood under the tent for hours, eating burgers and drinking 'samples' of beer - still a fun day.
