We have owned our 74 stingray almost a year now and love it but are having a hard time putting it back together. The previous owner did some terrible things to this car. We have a question about the alternator. The pulley doesn't line up with the other pulleys so the belt sits about a quarter of an inch off. The alternator can't go back any further as it is already against the valve cover. The gm dealership can't seem to find out if there was a different alternator used in 74 for the 454 engine with power steering. If you have the big block in a 74 can you please help. Thanks
