OK, here is one more problem that I was trying to resolve so I could get my 1988 Corvette inspected.
The headlights would not go up and down. I did purchase and replace the three plastic inserts that had turned to dust inside the gear casing. The driver's side was completed without taking apart the motor itself and now works fine. However, the passenger's side required the disassembly of the motor to complete the task. In doing so, the two screws holding the housing together were broken. When we reinstalled the motor, it ran OK initially until we hooked up the other light. Now when we start with the two lights closed, the right one opens a short way and stops causing the left one to also stop. The left one opens and closes fine when it is the only one hooked up. The right one opens all the way and then binds up and stops when it is the only one hooked up. Twist the knob a little and it seems to free up but continues to bind each time it is tried. I know this is long winded but I wanted to get all the info out there. Any help/advise would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Al
