Hi all,

I finished the engine problems and am moving to the interior of my '82. My blower fan didn't work and I found that Bubba had bent the tabs over in the blower relay connector. I straightened them out and now I have low and medium speed on the fan, but there is no voltage on the red 12 gauge wire that powers it a high speed. Does anybody know where that wire comes from/goes to? Is it the same red wire that comes off the starter? Or do I go through the fuse box for that one. I know some of the older GM cars had a separate circuit for the fast fan speed.

Dunno about 82's, but up through the mid-70's the A/C high blower relay was fed from one of the screw terminals on the horn relay through a dedicated red 12-ga. wire with an in-line fuseholder.

Thanks John,

I checked it out, and now that you mention it, the horn doesn't work either. According to my assembly manual, it's up over the fuse block somewhere. Time to stand on my head for a while.:(

Thanks John.

I got the horn working by reseating the relay in the connector, and that plugs into a big bundle that goes into the harness. Where's that inline fuse holder located? I don't see anything other than the wire harness under the dash, besides the fuse box. It's a huge red wire, you wouldn't think it would too hard to follow would you?
It's so hot in the garage, I think the sweat in my eyes is keeping me from seeing it.:L
At least I got the horn working, I have to get it inspected next week without emissions testing. Pre- '96 models dont get tested in NY, whew!

Pete.

Might check your local auto parts, I picked up a relay from O'Reilly and they had it behind the counter. I am always suprised at the number of parts I can get for my '75 from my local parts dealer.

Andy

Thanks guys,

I can get one locally. I am having a problem finding the parts(not in the store, in the car). I still have no voltage at the power wire going into the relay. The power that comes out of the resistors for low and medium speed are there, and are working, but no 12V on the high speed wire on the relay.
Anybody know where the inline fuse is?

Thanks
Pete.
