When I rev up the engine I have a high pitch squeel coming from the engine area.

Cant pin point exactly where it is coming from. So i changed the belts and it is still there any idea what or how to pin point the problem thank you very much.

Thinking either power steering or alternator.

Try taking off one belt at a time until it stops. You won't damage anything doing this as long as you don't run it too long without a belt to the water pump.

It might not be a belt. It's not uncommon to have belt driven equipment make noises... like the alternator or the water pump. Since you've already changed the belts, remove them one at a time help isolate the problem. Remember- not too long without the water pump!!

Thanks for the advice im gonna the water thing and see what happens. I know for sure its not a vacuum leak because I can hear it scream at 40 mph and I have sidepipes.

Propably the alternator.

Dont know if youve fixed it yet but you might want to check the dust cover of the tranny. I once ran over something big enough to dent it. After that it would screech when at high rpms like 3000-4500.

Then you've isolated the problem, look if the pomp is aligned correctly. I had the same problem from 4000 rpm and up. The bracket of the airpomp was broken between the two lower boltingpoint, then i cranked up the engine enough the airpomp dispositioned itself a little and it sounded like some girl was screeming. Hope it helps.

I just ordered in a new leafspring for it. So once that comes in im gonna start working on it while its sitting in the garage. Let you guys know what I find. So far my harmonic balancer is slipping and it looks like the pulleys dont lign up correctly.? Gonna have to do some work to the front of the engine.

An old reliable, simple trouble shooting tool is a long screw drive (I have one with a 3 foot long blade), with eng running, hood open, touch the blade to each component with moving parts, while pressing the handle to you temple (just in front of your ear). The screw driver acts just like a doctor's stethoscope, amplifies the sound from each component and delivers it directly to you ear.
I just had similar problem with engine noise that sounded just like a noisy valve. This tool let me ID problem was coming from the distributor, found the one rotor mtg screw had fallen out allowing the rotor to lifted up causing the center spring contact to catch on the under side of the dist cap causing all the noise. Replaced cap & rotor, back to normal operation. Strange fact is the car still ran fairly well, other than the terrible noise.
