High pitched sound coming from my gas tank, some feedback on what it might be? Does not happen all the time but when it does, it's very annoying.

Fuel Pump,Dose it happen more often when fuel is below,say 1/3 tank??

Check the purge solenoid on the canister...when the purge valve doesn't function properly, it will not release pressure in the tank and it will make a whining sound....open the filler cap when its making that sound to verify it...it will release the pressure and stop.
