Just spent some time in the city of Pittsburgh at the Vintage Grand Prix. On the way home the old beast didn't want to idle right and I had to do a lot of foot shuffling to manage stop and go traffic. To add to the problem, nobody gives you much room to roll back a little when you start out anymore. They have to be right tight on your bumper. Make for a few tense moments.
The parking brake doesn't work too well and I just haven't had time to dig into it. Most parking brakes I have had in the past wouldn't hold on a real steep grade anyhow.
I was thinking on the way home of how nice an old fashioned line lock on the front brakes would be. I could mount the switch some place out of the way so it wouldn't be to noticeable.
Any opinions? Can the parking brake be repaired so it is useful on the steepest hills, or would the line lock be the way to go?
