I have to remove the covers on my C5 to replace the rocking adjusters and was shopping for hog ring pliers. Eastwood lists 3 types a Baby Graf; staight nose, spring loaded closed; curved nose, spring loaded open; I will probably use them again so I prefer to buy quality tools.
My question is which type is prefered or easier to use. I saw a cheep set on a venders site (9.99 with rings) but they looked to cheesy to me.

For myself I would get the springloaded closed, that way you don't drop the ring when you get into a tight area. I agree on buying quality. I have run into to many cheap tools that you end up replacing before the job is even done.

I go down to Gibbs Hardware in Old Fart North Carolina and get mine!! We still have People that use them for what they were Invented for around Here! Ta keep there Old Ladys from Rooting under the fence!!;LOL :rotfl

And Yes I have had to Ring more than 1 Hog!:D

I actually ended up buying both the straight and angled ones one from Eastwood and one from JC Whitneys along with a trim tool the local store had one that was too big to remove the handle from the tilt.

All the parts haven't arived yet and I put the old stuff back in so I can drive it cause the both winter beaters are broke down, I can't get to my lift to fix them cause the ground is saturated and too soft to move the Ole yellow truck outside. My Wife keeps saying I have too many cars ;LOLI may find out how C5's handle the snow as its supposed to snow this weekend with my luck we'll get a foot.

Speaking of the old yeller truck. ????????????????????

But I have not done much of anything to it lately now both Winter beaters need work and I have all 4 in the barn so you can guess what I'm doing I had to put the seats back in the C5 so I have something to drive, and my Wife says I have too many cars,;LOL

Looks to me like you don't have enough when you have to put the C5 back on the road.
