My rear bowl is leaking and I bought this rebuild kit.

When I took the rear bowl off, I noticed the needle valve in the kit is different than the one coming out of my carb. Did I get the wrong kit or is this one of those updated things? In the picture, the one on the left is the new one, and the one on the right is original.

If its an update, how does it work? It looks too short.

Also, in the pic, the piece of metal on the right of the needle valves fell out, how does that go back in? I cannot find it in a diagrahm.

You need to buy a real Holley kit. That piece of metal ia baffle and is not needed with the correct kit. Also, you will need the correct jam nut and screw, for your needle and seat assembly.

OK thanks. So this kit I guess is trash. The correct jam nut and screw? I took the one on the right out of the carb, is that not the correct jam nut and screw?

Before you go any deeper into the rebuild be sure to check the main body face and both sides of the metering block for warpage. To do this lay a straitedge across the face many different was and see if you can stick a .003 (not sure about this spec) feeler gauge under it. Hopefully your gasket was bad but chances are that something is warped. I purchased a 2818 off EBAY with the hopes of throwing in a kit - no dice ... the rear bowl still leaks. Whatever you do, don't try to fix a leaky Holley by tightening the bowl screws!;)
