Any strategies on adjusting my 67 big-block hood? If I adjust the bumpers high enough to eliminate "shake" the top does not close on it's own and "pop's up. Any ideas?

been having the same problem on my 63, no suggestions just wanted you to know your not the only one, good luck let me know if you figger somthing out.

on my 64 the hood corner started popping up on the highway - the hood hinge was worn so I shimmed the "rivet" or pin that goes thru the hinge.

I'm not positive, but I think you can adjust the male (hood-attached) shaped "bolt" a bit by loosening a lock nut near the underhood surface and unscrewing the bolt, then locking the nut again. It may be that the shaped pin is just not extending quite enough to be captured by the female latch receiver after you raised the bumpers. There also may also be some vertical play/adjustment in the attachment of the female receiver to the firewall.

The bumpers set the final appearance height/flushness at the rear of the hood, and adjusting the male bolts on the hood sets the height at which the latches catch and hold. Crimp a piece of aluminum foil across each latch and lower the hood gently so the male bolts make an impression - the impressions should be centered in the receiver holes. Always start out a fresh adjustment with the hood bolts a little too long - if they're a hair too short, and latch, you may not be able to release them with the release handle due to the pressure working against the bumpers.
