Can anyone advise if there is a way to open the hood of a 91 Vette if the right side latch won't dis-engage?? Pulling the latch allows the left side to open but the right side is stuck. Any ideas?
Thanx

Try this... Stand on the driver's side beside the open latch of the hood. Reach as far across the hood toward the stuck side as you can, about the center of the hood. Then try to lift the hood by taking hold of at the opening in the center and lift up. Works on my '88 when it sticks. There is an adjustment at the stuck latch. When you get it open a few turns of an open end wrench should do the trick.

each side nhood release has a cabld to the release lever. look carefully at that lever and see of both cable ends are fastened correctly. you may be able to pull the ends with pliers to release the stuckj side. have someone press down on the stuck side to relieve pressure. I found one of the cable ends had become fouled.

My passenger side always sticks. I have to pull up on the hood when I pull the lever. I have the line adjusted so that isn't it. Actually, I have to double check it when I close it as sometimes it doesn't lock.

So, I've tried adjusting the plate thing on the hood, but that just makes it worse.

What could it be, worn spring? Or is there something else that can be adjusted?
