I am scarred for life! (or at least a long time).

I understand how you get Hooker side pipe burns on your ankles, and back of your legs....but on your inner forearm??????

Okay, here is the 411. While at the www.good-guys.com show last weekend, my modified hydraulic clutch was giving me trouble. I mean TROUBLE! It was all I could do to move the car around. We were selected as a winner on Saturday, and were requested to bring the car back to the winner's circle on Sunday. So, I was desperate to get something working.

The fluid level was fine, so I laid down a half a dozen wooden blocks, and drove the car up to get under it. There, I had access to the bleeder for the hydraulic release bearing. I had Nikki hop inside and do the deed with the pedal.

You know, when you get burned on these pipes, by the time you feel the heat....it is toooo late. Well, YIKES! I feel the pain on my right arm while I am up under the main plumbing of the exhaust pipes.

The good news is, I got enough air out to make it through the show on on the trailer.

The bad news is the burn is BAD!

The other good news is, I installed a new master cylinder on it yesterday and upon taking the old one apart, I found the front inner pressure seal was torn. The new one works like a champ.

YIKES!!!

Take care of that... put some vitamin E on it.

Do you have the fiberglass covers on your setup?

:cry :cry :cry

Vitamin E??? I did not think about that. The blister stage has passed and I now have a crusty mess on my arm.

No fiberglass covers, these are the wide open big boys hanging down low there.

When I worked in the ship yards as a welder/fitter, we would get burns constantly. The yard nurse would always spread aloe-vera on the burn. This seemed to help. They would also recommend that we run the burn spot under as hot a water as we could stand to draw the heat out, but you have to do that almost immediately. I question whether that REALLY worked however. "BE CAREFUL OUT THERE" they would always say! Like that had any influence.

There was one nurse, and she was definately NOT hot! Except to the guys who just came in from a 6 weeks offshore job. But they had other problems as well, like blowing their entire check on booze at Gilleys.

Ah man, I shouldnt have asked. My imagination was running wild, if you know what I mean. :L

Ha..I did that too Chris, same place. I got the same crusty spot sitting there right now. I was getting the car up on a lift to adjust the shift rods and rested my forearm on the tube while shoving the lift arm under the car...yeoowww. I knew what would happen though cause I got my inside calf a year ago..Hope thats it with that..Two scars for life over the hookers..They sure are cool though..

Hooker Horror...

When I saw the title of this thread I was thinking a bad experience in Vegas or something. :L

But seriously...OWWW Chris...that hurts! The aloe vera does work well. I'm frequently testing the skin's tolerance to an 850 degree soldering iron for some strange unexplained reason, so we keep a bottle handy in the lab.
