Hi all,
Since I just got my '98 vette 3 months ago, I don't know if this is normal or not. When I go around a corner the heat comes on super hot as if the coolant is sloshing to one side of the engine and boiling off. I have seen this with older V8's when the coolant level gets low, but everything looks normal in the radiator and overflow tank. Normal or not? Other experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Your talking about the actual heater ? or the engine temp ?

The air coming out of the blower vents gets real hot as soon as I go around the corner.

Don't think I have ever noticed that on any car. Sounds more like a door in the heater box moving around . This happen under accelleration ? If so there is something wrong with your vacuum canister .

It doesn't happen at any time other than going around corners. It feels like I have an air pocket in the engine block, but the coolant levels are normal in the radiator and coolant recovery tank.

I have seen on the forum someplace that there is a bleed valve somewhere on a bypass line I believe. If you can't find it do a search. Maybe someone that knows more about them will see this .

Thanks Scav.

Somehow this got moved over to the C4 forum. I will try to fix my dyslexia problem. 89, 98, so similar but important difference.
