Please help, Fuse links shorted

Hello guys, I'm having a problem with my '90 vette

To make a long story short, I was driving my car, had the stereo on loud :D then the stereo went dead along with the dash and horns :cry . The car continued to run until I turned it off, then it wouldn't start, not even a click, so I had to have it towed.

I ohmed out the fuse links to check if they were blown and they are not, but two of the fuse links are shorted to ground. Also, the ignition switch wires and the small wire to the starter are shorted to ground. The only dash light that is working is the battery indicator light. The windows still work as do the headlights, seats and power locks. The alternator tested good, I checked the fuses on the side of the dash and they are all good :confused .

Any ideas as to what the problem may be or any suggestions as to what else I should look at? Any help is greatly appreciated, as I'm new to the Corvette World. Thanks!

Welcome, this is a great site for help and information.

It's normal for the small wire to the starter to read a short to ground since it is the coil part of the solenoid. Current flows through the small wire to the starter then to ground when voltage is supplied via the ingition switch and relay.
I don't know how a '90 Corvette is wired but many cars have a 'fusable link' (that is sort of like a huge fuse) in the wiring harness. When it goes, no voltage can be supplied to the starter. Your dash and radio may be connected to the battery via this fusable link and the horn, power windows, etc. have separate fusing (I don't know how your year is wired), And if you have an aftermarket radio you'd have to trace out how they brought power to it from the battery. Or you may have a dead starter - not likely since your dash is also affected.
Could you be more specific about which wires in the ignition read short to ground?
Get a wiring diagram and schematic for your year (you may find one by using the 'search' tab above). Or wait until someone here comes up with a pic.
I greatly prefer the Helms service manuals. They're a 2 volume set and can usually be found on eBay for under $80. New are above $130 for most years. And they are not the same from year to year. Some other manuals are helpful but not complete enough to answer this kind of question. Some other manuals are downright misleading.
Hope this helps.

are you pulling any trouble codes?
have you checked the major ground strap on the rear of the engine on the drivers side?
