I was looking for a decent auto shop around Houston that actually had some guys that knew how to work on corvettes. I want to get some new headers soon and hopefully I can poke around at a couple shops. I saw that Motorsport Technologies does corvette work; anything good/bad about them. Does anyone know of any other good places around here?

Thanks:beer

I used MTI awhile back for Kooks header install and have been quite pleased. They were professional and competent. The only trick was scheduling the work to be done. The day I was scheduled, they weren't ready and I had to wait. On re-schedule, the sales rep wasn't in and apparently didn't set things up. I was beginning to get upset but they were able to fit me in. Quality of work has been great (no problems for a year and a half or so).

I recommend them.

Ruckmjr, how much did you end up paying for install? i went by today and i think he quoted me around 600

Thanks

I hate to jump in the middle of this discussion as it seems to apply to to upgrade work, but do you have any suggestions to a shop for repair and/or maintenance work? It's hard to decide which shop to use in Houston (Atascocita/Kingwood) and dealers are definitely out (several bad experiences). Thanks.

Where are in the Houston area? Try Corvettes of Houston. :w

I'm on the SW side inside the loop, down by the medical center and rice. I've been up to Corvettes of Houston but the last time i was up there they gave me the cold shoulder and kind of blew me off, so I got a little mad.....plus their headers are kind of pricey. I guess I could just have them do the install though.:naughty:

Thanks for the suggestion, Tuna, and I had the same experience at Corvettes of Houston as you did osuvette; it kind of sours you to deal with them!

Hummm, sorry to hear they treated you that way,,,,,personally, I never had a problem with their customer sales or service.

OSUVETTE: Sorry, I don't recall what the install was. I thought it was something like 400 but I'd have to check the paperwork. They will take care of you and know their stuff.

Corvettes of Houston - Sorry, my wife and I have had numerous poor experiences with them, especially the service dept. Exhaust install - the kid left my swaybar hanging down in the street. I should have double checked it before leaving but was in a hurry. I didn't get far. I can understand a mistake , even like that, but to be ignored for hours when I'm trying to rectify the problem doesn't sit well. That was just the beginning before we learned to go elsewhere. I thought they acquired a new service manager so things may be better.

I went to Corvettes of Houston twice and got the same cold sholder both times. The guy didnt even want to look at me much less answer my questions. So I left and bought my vette elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure the guy judged me from what I was wearing and the clunker I was driving. His mistake.

I agree with all, about COH. They have changed, so my buisness will go some where else. I had some work done on my 69 Plymouth Road Runner, at Aero Car Care, they are on Cypress N. Houston Road. They always have older cars, street rods in the shop. They seem like good guys, I've never herd anything bad about them.

Thanks all for the info. I'm looking to get the work done within the next couple of weeks so I'll let you know how it goes.

ps. Tom....sweet little 65 you've got there :_rock
