How can I make my intake seal good on a zero decked block??

On my '68 Vette - I have a zero decked engine that came with a matched intake (matched to the block). I changed intakes..because the one that came with the engine wasn't what I needed... and ever since - I have pretty high oil consumption. Oil gets sucked into the combustion chamber because the intake gasket isn't sealing perfectly... I just replaced the intake gasket again and it didn't fix my problem.. I wonder if there's some kind of sealer that I can put on top of the gasket so that it'll seal better against the intake??? I don't want to spend $1000's to have the engine pulled and the intake matched to the block...

Any suggestions??

That's why the other intake was "matched" to the block deck. You could have the new intake machined to match the angle of the old one. Messing around with sealing mis-matched surfaces will only bring headaches.

Well - I sold the one that came off the engine :( :(

A good engine-machine shop will be able to do it anyhow just by taking measurements on the block and heads.

To re-establish the correct sealing relationships, for every .010" milled off the original factory deck surface, you mill .012" off the sides of the intake and .017" off the front and rear sealing surfaces.
