How can you tell what color interior?

My 84 is black with a dark grey (?) interior. The seats are close to black (but I would not call them BLACK) and the carpet is lighter than that. My problem is that as I am ordering new floor mats, I don't know which shade of gray I really have. Is there any way to tell for sure?

The dark grey is called Graphite, and is close to black. Medium grey was lighter.

If you find your RPO codes sticker (should be in the center console), one of the last sets of numbers is the interior and exterior color codes. If you have graphite leather, you'll have code 122. Graphite Cloth is 12C and Sport Cloth is 12V. For medium grey, the sequence is the same except they're 15 instead of 12.

The code for black exterior is 19, so you'll see that number right before the interior
code. There was no black interior on that year.

My guess would be that you have graphite and your carpet faded more than the seats...

Somebody much wiser than I once said the only stupid question is one that remains unasked...

Glad to be of help. FWIW, my carpets (saddle - tan) faded MUCH more than my seats. When I pulled the seats out and saw the original carpet color that was under the seat tracks, I was amazed.

There were no 84s with black interior, real black wasn't available in the interior until 1988 according to the Corvette black book. The black in 84-87 was called "graphite".
