How is your heat?

After a slew of 2-10 degree days here in Maryland I found my 81's heat to be more than adequate. Better than my Durango, or my 89 or 91 vette too. Since we haven't had any snow here in a month and all the salt got rained away weeks ago ( I know i just jinxed myself) I have been breaking in the new motor in my 81 and the heat is great. Are all older Vettes like this? My newer ones could never hope to have heat this good.I do remember the a/ c was extremely cold in summer too..a lot colder than any of the R-134 cars or trucks I have, even with the glass T-Tops.

I've had four Vettes and they all had good heaters . A 69 , 84 , 87 , 2000 . Cliff

My problem is the heat is even better here in the summer. The owners before us ripped the A/C out. I'm hoping the reflective insulation will cut it down some.

The problem with these cars has never been the lack of cabin heat. The problem is keeping it out. While my car is fine in the Summer with the a/c on, it can get unbearable without it.

Can anyone recommend a good A/C book for a 1980 corvette. I will be starting from scratch since some of the parts are there but probably dont work.

Daily driven 81 here in Ohio. No problems with heat. Although i have noticed my water temp can barely make it to 160 even when driving on the highway.

Plenty of heat in the summer here too. :L

The year specific service manuals include a fairly in depth chapter on the A/C system. E-Bay is always an inexpensive source :w

I just purchased one, hopefully it get here soon.

My 1976 Heater works great, although there is a short in the motor switch some place, it comes on even when the switch is in the off position. I have he old round dial type heater/ac control. I need to rework or replace it does anyone have any experience with these? Whats best to try and repair it or should I just replace the whole assembly?

I just got my 1981 in December, but I must say it warms up fine and is very comfortable. I hope the AC works well this summer as I would like to drive it to the beach at least once. :)
