Have the manufacturing quantities for the 427 vert been released yet?

They have not released production numbers for any of the 2013 Vettes yet. Just looking at the vin numbers from the larger dealers like Kerbeck shows that they produced over 2500 427's for 2013. I don't think its going to be much more than that as Kerbeck just received those cars recently.

The final 427 built went to the GM Heritage Center. The last four vin numbers were 2550 thus making it the 2,550th 427 built.
I predicted around 2500 months ago so I was only 50 cars off. Now I wish I could predict who's going to win the final four and make some money with my crystal ball.

One of the options on the 427 Vert was to select your own VIN. That means that the last VIN number doesn't necessarily define how many were built.

Thats right. Forgot about that option. I still don't think many people opted for that option.

WOW - sounds like that package accounted to 20%, or so of the 2013 production. That was a real welcome money maker for the General. I'll bet they're sorry they didn't do it sooner. Buyers asked for the 427 convertible since the Z was introduced 8 model years ago. Sometimes the "new, more nimble" GM looks a lot like the old, ponderous GM.

Just like the Grand Sport in '96 and the Commemerative Edition in '04, GM had to push out a one off year tweak to the last of the model so sales would stay up. If Chevy hadn't don't anything for '13, all the 427 Vert buyers would have waited for the C7.

I was planning to wait for the C7 Vert but when GM released info on the 427 Vert with the 60th strip package, that's the one I had to have. A C7 isn't in my short term future now and I'm okay with that. As my wife can attest, I've lusted after the LS7 for years but she would not let me buy a ZO6 until the roof came off or down. With the 427 Vert, I got the LS7 and the drop top. :happyanim:

s/n 2224 was born 1/13. :w
