how much brake petal free play should there be?

On a C3 69ish vintage with power brakes? I'm wondering if what I have now is "normal" since I put new rotors and pads in because the petal is a lot higher now than before. Now, the petal is "right there" whereas before it seemed a lot lower.

when my pedal was "just there" on my 78, 1 of the pucks the on my r/r caliper was not releasing. with the air bled off the power booster & the car not running there should be about 1-1/2 in pedal travel,same as on my 85. hope this helps some
