As I build my 327 motor up.. I'm concerned about how tall I can go in reguards to the combo height of the carb & air cleaner.

Mind you I do not have a car yet.. but are there differences between years?
I understand that a BIG block hood would have more clearance but by how much?

Any clue's here?

I currently have an Eldebrock preformer manifold ( Not the taller RPM )
Holley 750 with a carb aircleaner spacer( 2") and the stock GM air cleaner.

I'll measure from the block tonight and give verticle height.

Thanks

Vig!

Two words.....Hood Scoop;) Don't know from inches, but it solved all my clearance woes. Victor Jr. high rise with a drop base 4 inch K & N, sucks in low flying ducks:L Can be seen in sig. photo below.

I don't know what the exactly how much more room is gained by the BB hood, but I seems to be a few inches. I have a BB hood on my 64 that is a stock 327, but it just looks better. I don't know for sure, but you may have some problems with that setup including the 2" spacer. I have heard of some people having problems with just a dual plane manifold and holley with stock aircleaner. The extra room you gain with the BB hood I feel also allow the engine to run a bit cooler.
