Does anyone know where to find or have the directions to replace the headlight actuator seals. There are three parts in the kit, the seal the boot and the retaining plate. There used to be directions on MAD's website but I can't seem to find them anymore.
Thanks

Dont know for sure but sometimes Corvette americas website will have exploded views ,surely somebody on here has done this before.Personally I would have bought new actuators.

I've done this before, not a very hard job to replace the seals, the hardest part is getting the canisters out, the big pain is the springs. It's been a long time since I did this but I seem to remember having to go from under the nose to get them out. Once the canisters are out replacing the seals is very easy, especially if you have a new trim ring....something that wasn't available when I did this job. Make sure to mark the position of the rod ends on the canister rods, do this so that you can put them back in the same position when you install them back in the car. With the rod ends off it's simply a matter of taking the trim rinds off and replacing the seals. If you carefully bend the tabs on the old trim rings with tiny a screwdriver you should be able to reuse them and save the new set. Make sure to lubricate the new seals as well.

Just a FYI, I did this job about 5-6 years ago, at that time new canisters were about $130 each, don't know what they sell for now. New seal kits were $40 total(no trim rings were being reproduced) The seals are usually what the problem is, if not look at the vacuum lines.

If you have a digital camera, take pictures of the step by step process and send them to me with a write up and I'll host it in my tech section with your name on it as author. Then nobody will have to search for those crummy faded copies of instructions.

OK, just did a search on http://www.corvettefaq.com/ and came up with this; http://www.corvettemagazine.com/2002/january/headlights/lights-1.asp

Scott,
You are the best ! Thanks for the help, I did a search there yesterday and came up empty handed.

Paintdaddy,
Personally, I wish I had your checkbook and not mine.

just bought some from Ecklers, little tricky to get the canister in and out, but they fixed my headlights, now they work like they were new, it was the seals...
