What can stop Rotor Rust. I used some spray can (one-step) that converts rust to a primer. I think it is coming off at the car wash (where the rust started with the chemicals they use). Please help.
Thanks in advance,
Ron

KK6DV,

First of all....welcome!! You'll love this place.

Which D&S rotors do you have?
I have the Baer and the only time that rust is visible is right after I wash the car, butr this pretty much disappears after I drive the car and apply the brakes a few times.

I don't believe that you can completely eliminate the rust, but if there is a way, I would love to know about it.

One thing is for sure...the brake dust was reduced considerably when I went from stock to D&S.

Regards,

Pedro

I have GM rotors. I took them to a plating place today and they will do a Cad 2 Black plate. Cad 2 is what Brembo? uses (gowever in Gold, not Black). Looks like I'm on the read to no rust.

The only time I have ever seen rust on my rotors is after washing , I have only driven in the rain a few times and still no rust . Are you parked outside over night ?
Thanks,
Joe

Oh no, not outside, inside every night. I live < one mile from the beach. Everything rust here, the carwash just helps it along. I took the rotors to a plating place today and they will do a Cad 2 Black plate. Cad 2 is what Brembo? uses (however in Gold, not Black). Looks like I'm on the read to no rust.
