What or how does the front bezel on the E-Brake housing hook I see the springs but hows does it clip?

yes

It's the little piece that goes between the two consloes at the bottom of the slide cover

Whish I could help. I have a new cover that I haven't had the chance to replace myself.;shrug

I'll let you know

how it goes ,Most cars I've seen don't even have it or the slide.

if yr asking about the dust cover that slides with the handle?, Ive asked this before and was told that when you get a new slide cover ya have to cut one side of the opening ,cause the black handle does not come off.....go figure?, I just know it should but I havent tackled this part of my restore yet. (I have the new slide cover, but like most adventures on my car, I try to get most of the parts ready before i begin.

i bought that part and the cover pieces for the shifter too this weekend, i won't be putting these in for a few weeks though.mike

the slide

the slide does have a cut in it,but the piece i'm asking about is the one that goes at the bottom of the hole has two sping clips like it would go over or slip under something There"s not another vette around here for miles that I could check on

:confused I dah-nt know?, I just ran outside and looked at mine, the top pic of yr cover looks like mine. the underside I cant get to until next month when I change out the carpet. ... but ya might consider a assembly manuel?, they have lots of breack down pics of almost every part of the car. that might help
. Sorry

I just got done doing mine. I don't have pictures, but the clips attach it to the shift console. There is a cutout or depression in the trailing edge of the console, and it just clips on there. I'm having a problem trying to keep mine centered, but just needs some finesse. Hope this helps.

Thanks again for all the input!

It takes a whole lot of patience. I did the entire interior of my 74 Coupe last year. Without a doubt, this was one of the most frustrating areas.

I would first get the forward console to fit perfectly... all of the screws in. I placed some masking tape on the carpet and marked the correct position of the screws so I could find them again. Now knowing where it is supposed to be, remove the rear screws, and loosen the forward.

You have to sort of slide the forward part of the park brake console into the rear of the forward console. It is very tough to keep the small filler you asked about in position. I also found it just as frustrating to keep the handle slide in position. Buy a couple of these as the damage easily... they are cheap. One of the tough parts of the slide is to get it move forward or roll up when you release the handle. I never did get this to work right and I'm not satisfied with it yet.

It is easier to adjust and position the consoles if the pieces are warm. That's probably not a problem where you are. Just park the car in the sun for a few hours with all of the new stuff inside. I did mine in Michigan last January in a barely heated garage.

Good luck. If you need any photos, let me know.
