I'm new to the HUD system. My new 2010 GS has it and I notice that it is somewhat slanted with the left hand side higher than the right side. The angle is about 5 degrees to the horizon and even more when compared to the slopping hood. There is no adjustment in this axis that I see, the adjustments are up and down and brightness. The dealer said to bring it in but I'm a bit gun shy about having the mechanic crawl under the dash or take the dash apart... Any thoughts?
Thanks
Al

Well....the HUD display isn't properly aligned or installed, someone will have to "crawl under the dash to take the dash apart".

You could probably do the work yourself if 1) you have some mechanical and electrical skills, 2) you have the Factory Service Manual and 3) the proper tools.

Otherwise....if you want the problem corrected, you may need to trust a technician at a dealership.

Take it to your dealer with the stipulation that nothing comes apart without your prior authorization. You need to get a case file going (basically a written repair order, with a tech line contact if the dealer cannot resolve the issue) on the problem through GM and their tech support division. Have the dealer make sure that they will physically contact you (no messages) before anything is disassembled. Nobody knows your vehicle better than GM and their tech support.
