hurst shifters

Anyone here ever install a Hurst shifter in there vette? I have a super competition shifter with linkage and would like to know if you installed it with the trans in the car or out.

Went on my 76 with tranny still in the car.. just take off the console and the rubber boot. Only one of the bolts was a PIA to tighten up. Of course you will be in and out doing the lever and shifting rod adjustments. Not that difficult. Good luck.

Installed mine with trannie in car. Close quarters but do-able.

FYI the OEM shifter is rebuildable.
