Yesterday my daughter took my 89 Vert out. She made a stop at a local restaurant, shut the car off but the blower kept running. She brought the car home and parked it until I got home from work. When I got there the HVAC blower was still running. The car was shut off. I pulled the plug on the blower, this was the only way I could turn it off. Anyone have an idea to what the problem is?

Before we get anywhere, is it an electronic system? :confused

Unless it is in the head of the ECC, or you don't have ECC and it is a manual system, the possibilities could be a stuck relay, a bad resistor, and maybe a few other things. Anybody else have any suggestions?

Have to agree with Ken....first I would trace the wires back to the relay. Usually you can take the top off of the relay and clean the contacts. Use an emory board or a piece of sandpaper. Then have someone turn the blower on and watch to see if the relay "cycles". If not replace it.

If your system is the ELECTRONIC A/C C68

There is no relay... there is a solid state speed control.. and it would be located where the blower resistors would be in a manual style ( ac control) at the very top of the air plenum under the hood, pass side facing up with a single 4 wire connector on it.

OK, my controls are electronic. On top of the plenum are two multi-wire connectors. I removed the one closest towards front of car, to shut it off. Should I have power all the time here even when the car is off? You think my problem may be here?

Problem solved. It was the Blower Control Module (Solidstate). The Dealership wanted 160.00 dollars for new module. I went to local Salvage Yard and took one off of 99 Caddy. Paid 5.00 dollars.

Thanks Guys for your help
