I'm going into the panel to replace the heater core and as I put the screwdriver to the right-seat a/c outlet I could see the deteriorated foam pieces piled up behind the outlet grill.

Several months ago, one of the members posted a guy's website who sold the original type of foam but that site is defunct, or at least it was back then.

Does anybody know of a source for either the direct-replacement foam or a good substitute?

Thanks, in advance.

how about using some 'wet suit' material? Should be able to find the same thickness and with this material having a 'skin' (closed cell), it should last a long time.

AWESOME idea, Ted.

Anybody out there think of a reason why it wouldn't work?

I feel better already.

I wouldn't be afraid to use it. Same thickness it should prove to be a good insulator. Probably hold up better then the stuff they used. :w
