I have a '97 A4. It is hard to tell for sure, but I think I have a problem in my HVAC system. When I change the heat or A/C setting from floor vent to the dash vent settings, I don't think anything changes. The air seems to come out of both, no matter what the setting is. I do not have dual zone climate control. Is this common? How do I fix it?

HI there,
It sounds like you have a vacuum leak to the mode actuator.
Check to see if you have a hissing noise coming from underneath the battery when the engine is running, and let us know.
