can anyone tell me if there is a hydraulic clutch conversion kit for my78.
its an L82 with a 4speed t10 b/warner tranny, right hand drive.
regards ernie.

clutch&overdrive kits.

john thanks for the reply, nothing like talking to the horses head, by the way love your shed, i have 1400sq ft trade you, if you can send it to australia.
iam looking to get an overdrive for my 78 4 speed+ i would love to fit a hydraulic clutch or even a good cable type arrangement, to suit a r/h drive of course,
alas not all that much to choose from here in aus.
would love to here from you again regards ernie.

ern, why are you looking to put in a hydraulic clutch? Even if there isn't a direct bolt on kit for it, there shouldn't be a huge problem in fabricating/installing one.

The reason I ask why you want one is, sure it's hard to keep that clutch down for a 5-minutes redlight, but it is very few times I find myself even thinking about it. Maybe your linkage is too tight. Just some minor adjustments/lubrication. Or possibly some internal cramp.

you could be right, or maybe the conversion to r/hand drive is not so hot,
or it could be my lousy crook left knee, but i will try the extra lube, and check the links, also abutton type clutch may help, have you any knowledge of these.

regards ernie.

I like hydraulic clutches for there simplisity and smooth action. I wanted on for my 75 and just picked up the clutch master cylinder for a 85 one ton truck. Other then a linkage modification it was a direct bolt in to my firewall, never even had to drill a single hole.
I just chose a bellhousing with a slave cylinder on it and used a normal brake line for the connection.
When the motor torques over I don't want to deal with binding.

TR, he's in Australia, and his car is Right-Hand Drive; kinda hard to transfer mechanical motion from the right side of the dash and tunnel over to the left side of the bellhousing without a lot of monkey-motion and linkage. That's why he's looking at a hydraulic clutch setup.
