Has anyone here used the hypertech programmer on a LT1? I was wondering what the results were, if you could feel the difference?

Never mind, I found someone elses thread on here that answers my question, just didnt come up on the search.

Used Hypertech...

Speaking about programmers, I bought an used one and it looks the previous owner did not re-load the stock program back to his corvette. Now I cannot download the new program into mine.

It comes with a memory for it's own VIN vehicle

I had wondered about buying a used one and how they worked, that had to suck when you found that out.

For my '94, I find that it's most usefull for reprogramming the fans to come on earlier to keep the radiator temperature lower. I haven't been able to discern any seat-of-the-pants difference with the engine tuning.

power progamers

Save your money I have a 96 lt4 & the programmer did almost nothing , results may be different for a lt1.

This is my info on Hypertechs,

Ebayer: bldd38

sold me an unserviceable Hypertech Programmer and now he is not looking forward replacing the unit nor to pay me back.

Tha sad story of this is...he is a CORVETTE owner, "Mr. B. M." from Kentucky took my money and ran away. :w

Advice? Buy a new programmer!!!!

Thanks guys, I am going to pass on the programmer. I have put the K&N filter in and down the road I'll be looking into getting a pair of magnaflows but that will probably be it, I have a friend that knew someone with the programmer for a Ford Diesle and said it made a big improvement, but this is probably a different animal with the LT1 and LT4. If Im not going to be able to feel or here the difference I'll save my money, thanks for the replies and opinions. I like this forum, its one place that you can ask a question and trust in the answer or opinions.

If you want to lower the fan on temp and firm up the auto trans shifts have Brian at PCMFORLESS do the voodoo on your ECM for about $175. This applies to a '96 OBD II. You have to send it to him obviously.

The performance program justs changes timing and fools the throttle switch. Not much real help. The factory program in the brain is close to right on.

The HPP does exactly the same thing on the car in 15 minutes, and if you are unaware that they have to be returned to stock and are VIN specific then too bad for you caveat emptor. Every used one I've seen states it's returned to stock and therefore transferrable. If it was stated and not true that's a different situation and a good beating is in order...

Wow dug up a really old thread. I dont think any plug in type tuners are worth anything. Have it tuned by a good tuner and be done with it.

How about the Super Chips Plug in thing for an LS3.

Welcome to CAC. :w

This thead is dated, and the chance of getting information is marginal. Otherwise, you should search the correct forum for your question. Look into the C6 forums for your LS3.
