Although I'm a newbie, I'll start with a confession: the only vette I've ever owned I lost in a divorce. The car was so sweet, and the divorce so bitter, it's taken me 15 years to decide to buy another vette (I guess you really have to be a car guy to get that, huh?). But the new Z06 is what did it.
So being the o.c. that I am, I have surfed and researched the car and the market as much as possible. My decision: DSOM, ebony, 2LZ, Nav., polished wheels. (Gives me an adrenaline rush just typing that in!) Some dealers are still (as of today) willing to sell at MSRP. Others want $5k - $20k over MSRP. When I was young, I had no money and way too much spare time. And even though things are different now, I'm not willing to pay over MSRP (though I totally support those who do). So I am inclined to wait and watch what's in stock. (There are actually a bunch of cars sitting as stock on showrooms across the country already.) But I would also be just as glad to put a deposit down on the car I want now and take delivery whenever - as long as it's the car I ordered. I'm patient.
But you folks seem to have a better handle on things. Any advice on where, what dealer, etc.? Any dealer members have any advice?
Thanks in advance - and gee it's good to feel like a kid again!
